They were both adopted at the age of six weeks by Mrs. Mamie Brown, a single woman with a low income and little education, but a very big heart. Les had no formal education beyond high school, but with persistence and determination has become a popular morning DJ, completed three legislative terms, hosted the nationally syndicated Les Brown Show on TV, authored several books, and is one of the nation’s premier keynote speakers.
